Green Tea ... Putting other teas to shame since 2737 BC

This little cancer ass-kicker has been incorporated into people's daily lives as early as 2737 BC.  You know what else was going on around then?  Not a lot ... though I did read in my vast research that one of the first wine vines was planted in that year.  A good year for beverages it seems.

Green Tea - in case you are a devout coffee drinker, like me and never paid much attention to it is one of the greatest things on the planet.  That's a fact.

I didn't pay much attention to it until my father was diagnosed with Cancer.  Every single book I came across, and there were many, all had entire chapters devoted to Green Tea.
As a result, I went online and bought a case of Green Tea.

I bought Ito En Oi Ocha Green tea and what I had in my mind that green tea would taste like was NOT what this tasted like.  It was bizarrely bitter to me and I pretty much hated it.  So I drank half, set it aside and a few moments later, I wanted more.  I still wasn't fully on board but I wanted to drink it - not because I read it in a book that I should drink it but I just wanted to.
I feel like somehow my body just knew what it needed and it's now easily my favorite thing to drink and have on hand.  I buy cases of this on Amazon and we can barely keep them around.
Finn even loves them and will drink one after Lacrosse.

Green Tea Fun Facts:
  • It's LOADED with polyphenols called catechins.  These seem to keep carcinogens inactive in the body
  • One of these guys: EGCG (Epigallocatechin gallate) actually helps prevent the formation of new blood vessels by cancerous cells.  First of all I didn't even know Cancer cells could form new blood vessels which is akin to a really shitty driver able to form new roads to get to where they want to be even faster.  We don't want them on the road to begin with and we certainly don't want them creating faster ways to get there.  Get off the fucking road and stay home!
  • Green tea has the greatest effect blocking cancer from the GI Track however they have been shown to help prevent breast, prostate, and lung cancer
  • The reason Green Tea makes Black Tea look like a chump is all these amazing properties are killed in the fermentation process.  Green tea never goes through fermentation so it stays whole in terms of it's beneficial properties.
  • If you were to drink 2-3 cups a day - your blood would be loaded with EGCG and once in your blood steam it zooms around through your capillaries
  • EGCG also blocks the receptors that cancer needs - basically a cancer cell barks orders all day long - but EGCG helps your tissue prevent new vessels needed for tumor growth.  It basically turns your entire molecular system into my 12 year old when asked to clean his room.  That isn't happening ... The light is on but no one is home.  In short "GFYS"
  • Green tea also lowers cholesterol, blood pressure, it's detoxifying, it's great for Type-2 Diabetes, it may prevent strokes - the list goes on and on and on - check it out for yourself.  Even doing a quick internet search, I think you'll be blown away by the amount of information that is out there.

My daily routine now includes 2-3 cups of Green Tea - it's something I really enjoy and it absolutely feels like I'm doing something good for my body.  As my dad would say "It certainly doesn't hurt"

Grab a cuppa and relax as part of your daily routine too - I think you'll love it as much as I do.
